Gender Inequality Around The World
Let’s explore different avenues such as Pay, Workplace, Pension, Mobility, Marriage, Parenthood, Assets and Entrepreneurship to better understand gender inequality.
The goal of my project is to provide insightful visualizations that speak about gender inequality and add value to pre-existing contributions on MakeOver Monday.
Existing Visualization on MakeOver Monday
We can see that the two charts on the top display information in terms of index score. Index score has a value of 0 for no and 20 points for yes. The questions are in support of gender equality. Hence, the higher the scores the better the country implements gender equality. And in the chart below we can see the counts pertaining to each question.
Improving Existing Visualization
The visual charts have been generalized in regards to all sub issues. I will be focusing on each topic and subtopic specifically for greater clarity. Instead of focusing on countries doing better, my focus is to highlight countries and regions where inequality still exists. I am also focusing on recent data in between 2010–2020 that gives us better idea of recent inequality trends.
Let’s explore!
